If you were to start a kickstarter or some other crowd funding campaign to raise the costs for a translator, I would happily give towards it and share with others.

thank you so much! I don't think I can do a kickstarter because my french editor bought the rights, and I can't make money off something that now belongs to them - even if it's only for the translator! I'll ask them about it, but sadly I doubt that'd work legally :(
